Walking Group

 Marple

Free lift for tired walkers on a recent trip to Marple.

Clear those bookshelves!

If you have books in very good condition you may like to donate to U3A. Bring them to the Book Club Table any Tuesday where we will offer them for sale to other U3A members, in aid of U3A funds. We like to offer for sale only books in very good condition unless they are of special interest where condition is of secondary importance.
…. or you may like to simply give them away……..?For a fascinating way to do this take a look at www.bookcrossing.com. See how some people are setting their books free for for others to read and tracking their progress around the globe

Unique Greetings Cards

If you would like to join us come and see us at the Tuesday Coffee Morning or ring Joan 526 9406 or Val 526 1557.

In conjunction with the Creative Writing Group we can now arrange a unique greeting card for that special occasion -the dedication or verse composed by one the Creative Writing Group Poets.

Don Billington

Tuesday 25th November 2008

Maghull Baptist Church

As part of the U3A programme of monthly speakers at our Tuesday Coffee mornings, we welcome once again Don Billington who has kindly agreed to give us a demonstration of Christmas Flowers etc., seasoned  of course the usual Billington humour. Many of you already know Don, but for those who don’t, he is Area Flower Demonstrator and Head Gardener at Croxtheth Hall. He  won a Silver Medal at Chelsea and Tatton Park for Mr. Roscoe’s Garden ( which you may have seen at the Southport Flower Show). Don also won a Silver Medal at the N.E.C. Birmingham. This is a demonstration not to be missed and, who knows, you may be lucky and win one of Don’s arrangements in the free raffle.

The regular U3A Coffeee Mornings, where you can find out all about the various Groups, including Gardening, are held between 10 and 11.30 each week. Don’s talk will commence about 10.45.
