Shugborough Hall Visit – Monday 22nd March 2010

After a very good journey, most unusual for the M6, we arrived at Shugborough Hall and were greeted on board coach.  The weather was mainly dry, cold with the odd spit spats of rain.  What a lovely surprise Shugborough turned out to be.  Probably the best National Trust property we have visited.  We were transported back in time to the the working and living conditions of the l800′s.  The Staff were informative, friendly, realistic and communicative – it was easy to believe we were living in the l800′s.  On a cold day, one of the favourite places was the farmhouse kitchen with its roaring fire but after a thorough warming we travelled through time in the kitchens, flour mill, dairy, servants’ quarters where we saw a lot of different demonstrations.  We had a nice hot lunch in the Lady Walk Tea Room – tasting all the better for our 20% discount.  An enormous amount of hard work must go in to running this property including all the “back room” staff and it shows. The day flew past with barely time to see everything. We all enjoyed our day there.

GIRLS’ NIGHT OUT

Written by Louise Roche; directed by Jack Randle Hilarious and touching, Girls Night, The Musical follows five friends as they re-live their past, celebrate the present and look to the future during a wild and outrageous girls night out at a karaoke bar. Youll recognize many of the characters…Carol the party girl, blunt Anita who tells it like it is, Liza and her issues, boring Kate the designated driver and Sharon, the not-so-angelic angel who just couldnt resist tagging along. Girls Night, The Musical is bursting with energy and packed with classic anthems, from Lady Marmalade and I Will Survive to Its Raining Men and Girls Just Want to Have Fun. You know you dont need an excuse for a good time…so grab your sisters, your girlfriends and your workmates and prepare to laugh, cry and dance in the aisles!
