Historic Bridgenorth and an English vineyard

Day trip report on visit to  Bridgenorth and Half Penny Green Vinyard

On a lovely warm, sunny September day, we boarded the coach for Bridgnorth, a pretty floral historic town.  After lunch we moved out of Shropshire and into Staffordshire to visit the Half Penny Green Vineyard.  Here we were given a conducted tour of the vineyards, heavily laden with grapes almost ready for harvesting.

Next followed the important part of our visit – the wine tasting ably served by our very own Rosina.

Rosina

Then the next most important part an abundance of freshly baked scones, lashings of cream and jam and pots of freshly brewed tea/coffee – delicious.  With a little time left we strolled in the warm sunshine and made a quick visit to the shops on the site.
