There will be a cad making exhibition and demonstration at our Coffee Morning on Tuesday 1st November. Come and talk to us and see how it’s done.
Dennis returns to our second session and expands our knowledge of basic Chinese cookery techniques, followed by preparation and cooking of pork and prawn dishes with a variety of stir fries. Our intake of knowledge is only exceeded by the quantity of our consumption. Bon appetit !
Today I received a letter from Royal Liverpool Research Unit thanking us for the donation of £1,100.12p raised when I opened my Garden in July. I still can’t believe what we raised considering the weather at the time. The response was amazing, all due no doubt to Ann Raw and Barbara Short’s wonderful cakes and Fred raw taking the cash and all the other helpers including Beryl and Ann Mckeating . So thank you everyone and I will display the letter at the next U3A meeting Tuesday,
Norman Conway.
At our Open Day on Tuesday 27th September 2011 we raised £700 or Macmillan Cancer Support – an event organised in conjunction with Macmillan’s ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.’ Thanks to everyone who helped make this event so successful, especially the ladies who do such sterling work week by week, providing refreshments, and who again excelled themselves on this special occasion. (Thanks too to Motor Range Staff, Maghull who inflated the helium balloons.)
