Norman’s Garden event raises £360 for Charity

Following the  much appreciated Garden event at U3A member Norman Conway’s home, which many members supported, a total of £360 was raised for Leukaemia Research. Norman’s  garden filled with many exotic plants and shrubs was a source of inspiration to many and by popular request, he plans to repeat the exercise next year.  Our front page pictures hows Norman presenting a cheque for the proceeds. Thanks to everyone who contributed.

Operation Christmas Child

During this month shoeboxes filled with presents are being prepared all over the world in order to send “Love in a box” to children in the Developing World. You can be involved.

There is a display in the Maghull Baptist Church Foyer detailing the sorts of items that are needed. There is also a large box in which you can place donated items. If you would like to prepare a personal shoebox, please collect a green leaflet at the History Table at the Tuesday Coffee Morning.

The Local History group are arranging trips to help out at the warehouse at Speke. See Geoff or Ruth Brooksbank if you are interested. Tel 547 2180.
