‘THE RAGGED TROUSERED PHILANTHROPISTS’

The author of this world-famous novel about working class life and struggles died on 3 February 1911. His book, published well over 150 times sold millions of copies around the world and was hailed as the first great English novel about the class war.
To celebrate Tressell’s life and work, Manchester Trades Union Council has organised an exhibition at the Working Class Movement Library in Salford open between 1.00pm and 5.00pm, Wednesdays to Fridays, from 3 February until 10 March 2011.
